Buyer Beware - This toy may bring unwanted spirits into your home.
Ms. Rachel will pipe up at random with nobody around, to announce to the world that the letter X has been removed from the board. It's terrifying and obnoxious. One of the most unsettling voices to hear coming from inside a toybox. As if Elmo's sister was sucked into the nether and spat out into a child's receptacle of captured playthings. It's possible the spirit inhabiting this particular alphabet puzzle is just annoyed that my daughter continuously steals 1-3 letters at a time to hide throughout the house. These letters will be found unexpectedly in shoes, under furniture, in pots and pans, and in spots that you could swear a toddler would never be able to reach. I regularly return the pieces to the spirit and offer my sincerest apologies on behalf of our family in hopes of staying on it's good side. So far, we have woken up each morning and nothing nefarious has come to light, but I'm worried our luck will run out eventually.10 out of 10, Daughter loves it. Buy the un-haunted version if possible.

My 24 month old got this for Christmas and has played with it every single day. In that time, he has learned to identify and say all of his letters! He is still letter obsessed and loves carrying the pieces around, bringing them to me and telling me which one he has. Couldn't love this puzzle more. I'd do anything for a numbers version!

Wonderful for letter recognition and alphabet sounds
Preschool kids love this puzzle. I love that it emphasizes the alphabet sounds and letter recognition that we are learning in class. Younger children go so quickly through moving the pieces that they don't hear the entire message but older children take the time to listen. But you'll see and be amazed by what the children pickup on by hearing and seeing what they themselves experience and watching the other children interact with the puzzle too. Children learn in many different ways, this puzzle may be what triggers their brain to click on, so they get comfortable with showing what they know!
