FAQs
What is the range of the Midland LXT500?
The Midland LXT500 series features a maximum manufacturer-rated range of up to twenty-four miles in optimal, open conditions with a clear line of sight. In real-world urban environments or wooded areas with structural obstructions and dense foliage, the practical range is typically around half a mile to two miles.
How far do Midland walkie talkies reach?
The distance covered by Midland walkie talkies depends heavily on the terrain and surrounding environment. While they can achieve maximum distance across open flat land or from mountain peaks, buildings, trees, and electromagnetic interference will significantly reduce the signal coverage area.
Can these walkie talkies use standard disposable batteries?
Yes, these two-way radios feature dual power capability. If your rechargeable battery packs run out of power while you are outdoors, you can easily swap them out for four standard Triple-A alkaline batteries to keep the devices running.
