Product details
Description
Minwax Paste Finishing Wax is a premium wood care solution designed to provide a durable, hand-rubbed luster to any finished wood surface. This 16-ounce natural finish wax is specifically formulated for those who want to protect their woodwork, antiques, and furniture without the heavy, plastic-like coating of polyurethane.
It works by creating a thin, protective layer that guards against moisture and wear while highlighting the organic beauty of the wood grain. Beyond furniture, this versatile paste is a favorite among craftsmen for protecting metal tools from rust and reducing friction on woodworking machinery like table saw beds.
Whether you are restoring a family heirloom or finishing a new DIY project, this wax provides a classic, satiny sheen that feels as good as it looks. It is ideally suited for light-colored woods and surfaces that require a soft, sophisticated glow rather than a high-gloss shine.
How to use
- Ensure the wood surface is clean and dry.
- Apply a thin, even coat of Minwax Paste Finishing Wax using a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Allow the wax to dry for 10 to 15 minutes until it forms a slight haze.
- Buff the surface with a soft, clean cloth or a weighted buffer to achieve a high-quality, lasting shine.

FAQs
What is Minwax Paste Finishing Wax used for?
It is used to protect and add a hand-rubbed luster to finished wood surfaces like furniture, antiques, cabinets, and paneling. It can also be used on metal surfaces to prevent rust and on woodworking tools to reduce friction.
How long is Minwax finishing wax good for?
When stored in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly sealed, the wax can last for several years. If the paste becomes hard or dried out, it should be replaced for optimal application results.
Is finishing wax the same as varnish?
No, finishing wax is a topical polish that provides a soft sheen and light protection, whereas varnish is a hard, protective coating that soaks into or bonds more deeply with the wood. Wax is often used as a final touch over other finishes.
Is this Minwax Paste Finishing Wax authentic and available in India?
Yes, this is an authentic USA-imported product. Dropy India sources these directly from authorized distributors in the United States to ensure Indian woodworkers receive genuine quality products.
Can this be used over chalk paint?
Yes, Minwax Paste Finishing Wax is a popular choice for sealing chalk paint. It provides a smooth, matte-to-satin finish and protects the porous paint from dust and fingerprints.
