A Stunning, Calming Learning Toy That Blends Function and Aesthetics
This wooden abacus is one of the most thoughtfully designed learning toys we've added to our playroom. It's made from smooth, high-quality wood with rounded corners and soft muted colors that immediately set it apart from typical, more overstimulating plastic versions. It feels more like a piece of decor than a toy, but it's been used daily at our house for counting and sorting. The rows of beads move smoothly without getting stuck, and the spacing is just right for small hands to push individual beads with control. We've been using it to introduce early math concepts like one-to-one correspondence, color grouping, and pattern recognition. The tactile feedback from sliding each bead helps reinforce number sense in a way that feels very natural to a toddler. What I really appreciate is how well it fits into a Montessori-style approach: it's open-ended, durable, and child-led. We keep it on a low shelf, and my child regularly chooses it unprompted, sometimes using it to "count" favorite toys or follow along with songs. It's also easy to maintain: a quick wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking new. This is a timeless toy that combines learning and aesthetics beautifully, and it's sturdy enough to be passed down to siblings.

Adore this company. Another excellent article by Mushie!
This is great toy for all ages! Even earlier than the 2 years it is listed for as babies can play with it and start to listen to adults say the numbers and colors. Great quality and looks stylish, muted colors. It's a good size too, not huge but big enough to be engaging and fun for kids.

A hit with my 7 month former!
We love this Mushie wooden abacus! My daughter is 7 months old and already enjoys sliding the beads back and forth. It keeps her entertained longer than I expected which is a win in my book! The colors are soft and really pretty, and the wood feels high quality. My favorite part about this product is how my daughter can enjoy it now and continue to use it as she grows. Great job Mushie!
