FAQs
What is a sensory lap pad?
A sensory lap pad is a smaller, weighted blanket designed to sit across a person's lap while seated. It provides deep pressure input to help calm the nervous system, minimize restless movements, and improve mental focus.
Why do people with ADHD like weighted blankets and lap pads?
People with ADHD often benefit from the deep touch pressure provided by weighted items, which triggers the release of calming neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. This helps reduce physical hyperactivity and grounds their focus.
Can a child safely use a weighted lap pad?
Yes, children can safely use a lap pad provided they have the motor skills to move it off themselves if needed. A general guideline is that the weight should be comfortable and proportional to their size, usually around five pounds for older children and teens.
Is this NATAHEAVEN weighted lap pad an authentic product available in India?
Yes, this is a fully authentic NATAHEAVEN product imported directly from the USA. Dropy India sources genuine personal care and health items from trusted American channels to ensure Indian consumers receive original products.
How do I clean and maintain this 5 lbs sensory lap pad?
To maintain the integrity of the weighted filling and soft minky fabric, it is recommended to spot clean small stains with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For full cleaning, gently hand wash in cold water and air dry flat.
