FAQs
What is No.7 rubbing compound used for?
It is a heavy-duty abrasive cleaner used to remove deep scratches, severe oxidation, stubborn stains, and blemishes from weathered automotive paint, metals, and plastics. It is also used to rub down newly sprayed lacquer finishes before waxing.
Does rubbing compound remove scratches permanently?
Yes, it permanently removes scratches by physically smoothing and leveling down the edges of the surrounding clear coat or paint until the scratch is flush with the surface. It does not simply fill them in.
Is rubbing compound safe for all paints and plastics?
It is safe for standard automotive finishes, metals, and hard plastics, but because it contains a strong, coarse abrasive, it should be used with light to medium pressure. Always test it on an inconspicuous spot first.
Is this No.7 Heavy Duty Rubbing Compound authentic and available in India?
Yes, this product is fully authentic and available for purchase in India through Dropy. We import our inventory directly from trusted suppliers in the United States, ensuring you receive genuine American formulations.
Should I use a polishing compound after using this rubbing compound?
Yes, because this is a heavy-duty abrasive compound, it is recommended to follow up with a milder polishing compound to remove any fine hazing and maximize paint clarity, followed by a coat of protective wax.
