    LIFE SAVER!!!

    I just want to come back here and provide some updates (Jan 7th, 2017). I recently took my cat to the vet and had a blood test. His liver levels, exactly one year ago, were hundreds of times higher than normal levels. I got the blood test results today and all liver levels came back totally NORMAL. I have given him this pill daily for a year now and I am positive this is what got him back into good, normal levels. The vet also said to keep doing this, as it has been working. So even she seemed ok with long-term use of this.my cat (about 8-9lbs.. about 8-9 years old too) has had a bad liver for the last couple years. He underwent emergency surgery to remove and re-route his gallbladder in early 2014.. early this year (2016), his liver disease came back with force - blood tests came back showing his liver enzymes / bilubrin levels were through the roof (100's of times over normal levels).. I was given this from my vet and was afraid to stop the regimen, so I have been buying this off Dropy since that first month ran out. the fine print of this stuff does indicate that animals given a larger dose over a long period of time did not have any adverse affects. it's the exact pill and definitely less expensive purchasing here. I have given him a pill daily for the last six months. he is used to me shoving a pill down his throat, so if you're reading this and you're wondering just how the heck you're going to get a large, blue pill down your little one's throat whole, it does get easier. I don't follow the directions to a T, in that he does not fast overnight for practical reasons (he's not the only cat here, etc). I can say with confidence this product is keeping my little guy happy and healthy. I am extremely grateful and will continue to purchase this.

    Big Improvement in Maltese

    My Maltese of almost 14 years was diagnosed as being in liver failure. She had been treated for diarrhea for more than a month. My vet did blood work after a second visit and a stool sample showed no sign of worms. I described her diarrhea as being filled with mucous, very orange in color and spotted with blood. She also did several x-rays. X-rays showed signs of liver cirrhosis (shrinkage) and heart enlarged. The next day she called with the bad news that blood test confirmed suspicions that she was in definite liver failure. She wanted to keep her on Fortiflora. Canine FortiFlora is a supplement used to manage dog diarrhea and encourage gastrointestinal health in dogs by creating a strong immune system through the use of live probiotic cultures. It also includes antioxidant vitamins and can be used for the dietary management of dogs with digestive system disorders. She also put her on Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Gastrointestinal Health Canned Food. She had been eating chicken breast and rice for a month and up to this point was a very finicky eater. My vet told me my options. The first thing she asked me was if I have an Dropy Prime account. She then told me to order Nutramax Denamarin Tabs to begin treating my Maltese for her liver failure. My other options were to take her to a specialist for an ultasound and biopsy (after a clotting test to ensure she wouldn't bleed-out during the biopsy). Since she's almost 14 years old and scared to death to go to the vet for her regular appointments, I decided not to go any further. I decided to try the Denamarin and see if that helped improve her condition. Well, I'm happy to report that I've seen a big improvement. Other than her loose bowels (not really diarrhea), she acts very perky! The only side-effect that I've noticed is she seems to be hungry ALL OF THE TIME! She not has a voracious appetite! My vet had me go from 2 feedings to 4 small meals a day,however, I think the meds have given her an increased appetite. She drives us crazy begging for food. She has become very food aggressive. We have an 8 month old Frenchie and she will fight him over a crumb of food! He weighs 22 lbs and she weighs 8 lbs! It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. However, overall, I can't complain. The fact that she's not losing as much bilirubin (bright orange poop) or blood is a huge relief.
