  Noticeable Recovery Benefits at 65

  I've been taking Optimum Nutrition HMB 1000 Caps for almost a month now, and I can honestly say I'm starting to notice a difference. The biggest change for me has been quicker recovery between workouts. At 65 years old, that's huge - I used to deal with more muscle soreness and occasional cramps between training sessions, but since starting HMB, that's been noticeably reduced.As for strength, it's harder to judge since performance can vary day to day, but the consistent improvement in recovery has made my workouts feel more manageable and enjoyable. Overall, this product has been a solid addition to my supplement routine, and I plan to keep using it.

  Always a good brand. A good supplement for beginners or restarting working out.

  I haven't read any reviews on this stuff in a long time. From my previous knowledge and current experience, HMB is good for the first month or two of strength and mass gaining then it tapers off. Some people may have different stories, but if they have been at it a while, I doubt this helped them much, unless they really up their game and/or it had a placebo affect. I think most research and most users, only get that real benefit during that first few months, and really only for about two months of using this. That doesn't mean it doesn't help beyond that, but I am pretty sure for the cost, you have other options that will do you better. I have used it before and definitely got results. I had a layoff for a few years, I did not use it my first decade of working out. So when I got back into it and used this. Yeah, it helped for those few months. After some injuries, I am going at it again, and this is gonna be part of my regimes for two months, once I get through a few weeks of working my body back into the groove.

  Seems to have helped recovery time

  Since i started with two caps a day it seems like my recovery time has been shortened. Sometimes even right after a normal workout that would usually leave me feeling pretty drained I feel like I can keep going. I also feel more fullness in my muscles after a workout (more of a "pump").So for now I'm quite happy with it and will continue to use it and evaluate. Like any supplement it can take a long time to be sure it is actually consistently helpful over time.**Edit:** After using this for a while I do believe it has helped my strength and recovery time. After reading the research on this supplement I discovered that the most critical time to take it is prior to a workout, particularly weight training. The recommended dose I saw used was 3 grams immediately prior to exercise. Interestingly one study noted that taking HMB at other times had little to no effect so it is critical to take it right before a workout where it has been demonstrated that HMB can lower post-exercise markers of catabolism.
