    Worth it.

    I use this in combo with my vitamin c serum and I do think it's helped boost brightness a bit. It hasn't been a game changer for me, but I've had IPL treatments for discoloration, so my baseline skin tone wasn't too uneven. It definitely hasn't hurt and it doesn't irritate or break out my dry, super sensitive, acne-prone skin, so it's well worth trying. Especially if you can't tolerate straight vitamin c (l-ascorbic acid serums). L-ascorbic acid can sometimes be too harsh for me, so I tend to use serums with the derivative, Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate, since it still brightens and evens tone for me, but is gentler than l-ascorbic serums. This product is a nice boost to THD serums, too, so if you're using a vit c derivative product, definitely try using this in conjunction to see if it boosts your results! And don't forget to always wear your sunscreen!

    The Ordinary's secret hidden gem!! A fantastic boost to any Vit C serums!!

    I've used this in the past but didn't replace it right away, and that's only because I'm a bit of a skincare addict and had other products to get through.But I'm so glad I purchased it again, because it's worked amazingly with a vitamin C serum that wasn't agreeing with my skin. The vit C was great but too harsh for the texture of my skin, leaving it less than ideal. It brightened my skin but left it kind of bumpy looking.And that's where Pycnogenol comes in!! I now add just 1-2 drops of this to 4 drops of my vit C serum, and I no longer have any negative side effects from the Vit C at all!! I also add 1-2 drops of this to other serums as well, just for the added brightening and healthy effects of the Pycnogenol.I personally don't wear this alone, because my skin is very fair and the red color can affect the tone. It can also leave a slight oily appearance because it's so thin and it would require a lot to cover the entire face. I simply get more use by using 1-2 drops as an additive (literally just 1-2 drops is all it takes).I should also add that I'm 45 y/o with skin that can be picky and hormonally breaks out sometimes, but that has not been an issue at all with this product. So I highly recommend to anyone who's trying to minimize the effects that age has on the skin. I consider it The Ordinary's hidden gem.
