FAQs
What fixative is best for PanPastel?
Any standard workable or final artist pastel fixative is suitable for protecting PanPastel layers. Apply in light, even misting coats from a recommended distance to preserve the pigment texture.
Are pan pastels permanent?
PanPastels feature professional lightfast pigments, meaning they offer high resistance to fading over time. However, because they remain dry on the surface, a protective fixative and framing under glass are recommended for permanence.
What kind of pastels are pan pastels?
They are professional-grade soft pastels packaged in a unique cake-like pan format rather than traditional sticks. This format allows artists to use them with specialized tools for painting-like techniques.
