Bought this for blending in portrait work. The permanent red pigment is bright and requires very little pressure to apply with my sponge tools. Only thing is you need proper textured paper for layering.
FAQs
What is the difference between soft pastels and PanPastels?
Traditional soft pastels are typically manufactured as sticks requiring delicate pressure, whereas PanPastels are packed in a unique pan format. This cake-like design allows artists to lift, apply, and control dry color precisely like paint using specialized sponge tools.
Which paper is used for soft pastels?
Textured pastel papers, sanded papers, or heavyweight mixed media card stock work best as they provide enough tooth to grip and hold the ultra-soft pigment particles securely.
What is the best surface for PanPastel?
The best surfaces are heavy-tooth pastel papers, velour, or specialized art boards designed for dry media, which allow the pan colors to layer smoothly and blend seamlessly.
Are these PanPastels authentic USA imports available in India?
Yes, Dropy India sources these professional PanPastel products directly as authentic USA imports, ensuring Indian artists receive genuine, top-quality art supplies.
What fixative is best for PanPastel?
A workable or final fixative specifically formulated for soft pastels and dry media should be applied in light, even mists to protect your finished artwork without altering the colors.
