Product details
Description
Permatex 80077 Disc Brake Quiet is a heavy-duty aerosol spray specifically formulated to eliminate irritating brake squeal and chatter at the source. This premium automotive solution works by creating a tough, flexible elastomeric polymer barrier that dampens vibrations at the critical interface between the brake caliper and the brake pad backing plate.
Perfect for car enthusiasts and professional mechanics alike, this high-performance formula ensures a tighter fit, allows for easier subsequent disassembly, and provides long-lasting protection against corrosion under harsh conditions. It is fully compatible with anti-lock braking systems and is ideal for disc brake pads that do not feature built-in anti-squeal shims.
By forming a highly durable bond rather than relying on standard grease, it actively prevents unwanted pad movement and noise, ensuring a smoother, quieter, and more reliable driving experience. Bring professional-grade automotive maintenance to your garage with this trusted American import.
How to use
- Ensure the brakes are completely cool before application.
- Remove the disc brake pads from the caliper assembly.
- Thoroughly clean the backing plates of the brake pads using a dedicated brake cleaner to remove all dirt, grease, and old lubricants.
- Shake the aerosol can vigorously before use.
- Hold the can approximately 8 to 10 inches away from the surface and spray a uniform, even coat onto the back (backing plate) of the brake pads.
- Do not apply this product to the brake rotors, drums, or the friction side of the brake pads.
- Allow the formula to dry completely until it forms a tacky, rubber-like film before reassembling the brake components.
