FAQs
Is jute or sisal better for cat scratching post?
Sisal is widely considered superior to jute for cat scratching posts because it is significantly tougher and offers greater resistance to shredding. The coarse texture of natural sisal perfectly mimics tree bark, providing a more satisfying scratching experience for cats while ensuring the post lasts much longer without shedding messy fibers on your floor.
What can I put on my couch to protect it from cat scratches?
Instead of using unsightly plastic wrap or uncomfortable double-sided tape, you can place a dedicated furniture-protecting post like the PETKARAY Corner Scratcher directly against the targeted couch edges. This safely blocks access to the fabric while offering an alternative, highly appealing sisal surface that satisfies your cat's natural scratching instincts.
How to get cat to scratch post instead of couch?
To redirect your cat's behavior, position the new scratching post directly in front of the area of the couch they currently prefer to scratch. Apply the included catnip generously onto the sisal mat and reward your pet with treats whenever they use the post to build a positive association with the new surface.
Is this PETKARAY cat scratcher an authentic import available in India?
Yes, this is an authentic PETKARAY product imported directly from the USA. Dropy India sources all personal care, health, and premium pet products directly from authorized American distributors to guarantee 100% genuine quality for Indian pet owners.
Does this corner scratcher work well for large cat breeds?
Yes, the 23.6-inch height provides ample vertical stretching space for cats of all sizes, including larger breeds. The heavy, reinforced wooden base ensures that the post remains perfectly stable and secure even when a larger or more energetic cat leans its full weight into the sisal surface.
