Works well for the purpose, and California approved.
I buy these because they fit perfect in the bin we use for compost. They are not totally leak proof, but if you use a lined bin like the one liked below the small amount of precipitation they allow is not an issue until the bags get really old. DONT stock up on these, as they age they will start to weep more and they will eventually break down. Keep them stored in a cool, dry place to maximize storage life. I have never had one break on me that wasn't dropped, even after some age. For use with the bin I picked, use a chip clip or clothes pin to hold the slack in the bag (See Picture). Since doing this, I have never had an issue with the bag falling into the bin. Overall, its been a great bag to use for composting. You cant expect petroleum levels of sturdiness and leak proof in a bag you are expecting to break down quickly, but it comes close. I loved the first set of these bags I had. But the second set came packaged in a thin bag instead of a box. And the item's packaging was completely destroyed. 😖
