FAQs
What size return pump is recommended for a one hundred twenty litre aquarium tank?
For a one hundred twenty litre tank, a return pump with a flow rate of at least six hundred to twelve hundred litres per hour is recommended. This ensures your tank volume turns over five to ten times every hour for optimal filtration.
How do you calculate the correct return pump size for a fish tank?
To calculate the correct size, multiply your total aquarium volume by your desired turnover rate, which is typically five to ten times the tank volume per hour. You must also account for head height pressure loss caused by plumbing bends and vertical distance.
What size is standard aquarium airline tubing measured in millimeters?
Standard aquarium airline tubing typically features a four millimeter inner diameter and a six millimeter outer diameter. This return nozzle is larger, designed instead for eight millimeter inner diameter soft hoses.
