FAQs
How does a small submersible pump work?
A small submersible pump works by completely submerging the unit in water, where its internal motor spins an impeller. This spinning action creates suction, drawing water into the pump and pushing it out through the discharge outlet to create flow or lift.
Can this pump run dry out of the water?
No, this pump must be fully submerged in water before turning on the power. Running the pump dry or without a load will shorten its lifespan, cause loud operational noises, and potentially burn out the motor.
How often should the water pump be cleaned?
It is recommended to clean the water pump regularly, approximately once every two months. If the pump suddenly stops working or starts making unusual noises, it is usually caused by debris blockage that can be resolved by a quick cleaning.
