  Everything a toner should be + a bit more.

  When I ordered this Calming Deep Moisture Toner from Pyunkang Yul, it felt like I was inviting an old friend for a visit. This is the first K-Beauty brand I'd ever tried, and I have loved every one of their products. This toner is no exception. It arrives boxed with a security seal, and the plastic bottle inside also has a foil seal underneath the cap. The toner is odorless, clear, watery and nonsticky. It is so easy to use, it absorbs extremely fast and it leaves no residue on the skin. After using it my rosacea calms down immediately, and my skin appears a bit plumper and smoother. It is just what I look for in a toner, a formulation that will "reset" the skin and prepare it for the next step in my skincare program. The main job of this toner is to hydrate and soothe, and it contains plenty of ingredients to accomplish those goals. For hydration alone it contains propanediol, glycerin, panthenol, and five different forms of hyaluronic acid. For soothing it contains honeysuckle, tea tree oil, betaine, centella asiatica (aka cica), plus 4 different derivatives of cica for maximum benefit of calming and antioxidant support. What I didn't realize when ordering it, is that it also contains several ingredients whose focus is to exfoliate and regulate sebum production. These include citric acid (AHA), willow bark extract (BHA) and gluconolactone (PHA). Normally with my dry skin I avoid these ingredients, but this formulation has enough hydrating and soothing ingredients to counteract any irritation from those acids. All said and done, all types of skin need some exfoliation, so I am thrilled to find something that can do that without exacerbating my rosacea. As is becoming usual with this brand, I am just as pleased by what is Not in the formulation. They don't bill themselves as "clean beauty", nor do they carry the accompanying high price tag, yet this formulation contains not a single potentially harmful or controversial ingredient. Currently this product is selling at around $10 for this 2.7oz bottle of toner, and I think that's a steal for such a nice formulation.

  Gives me the tingles without the sting.

  I actually own [PKY] Pyunkang Yul Calming Deep Moisture Toner pads, and when I was given the opportunity to grab the toner, I had to do so. Going on, it has a light, fresh scent that's not overpowering or overwhelming one bit. The feeling is fresh, hydrating and gives me the tingles, but doesn't sting. Keep in mind this is more of an astringent toner, but it has gentle exfoliation in the AHAs, and PHAs to assist with skin renewal and helping your skin hold onto it's hydration. Do yourself a favor and enjoy how effective it is.

  Toner

  I'm really impressed with the ingredients in this toner. It has quite a few acids in it, giving it what feels like a lower ph on freshly cleansed skin. Feels fresh and light with no added fragrance. No irritation or anything from using. This contains calming central asiatica, so should be soothing for irritated skin. This is a small bottle that seems fairly priced for the higher than average quality. It probably won't last long if used regularly with a cotton pad, but will last longer if applied with fingertips.

  Smoothes the Skin and Adds a Hydration Boost

  Sometimes I use toner and honestly question if it's doing anything, but that definitely wasn't the case with this one. Right after applying it, my skin looked smoother and more plump. I saw that glycerin is one of the first ingredients, so I'm guessing the hydration boost is thanks to that. My skin stayed way more moisturized throughout the day compared to when I just use my regular skincare and SPF. I will definitely use up this bottle and consider repurchasing. One of the things I'm always worried about when it comes to buying skincare online is where it's made and what's in it. I did research and Pyunkang Yul is a Korean brand that is made in Korea. I trust that the manufacturing standards are acceptable in Korea. On this front, this product gets a thumbs up from me. Finally, I should add that I have very dry, sensitive skin that is prone to irritation from new products. I found this formula to be very calming. Based on my experience, it's sensitive skin approved.
