Way finer sound than you'd believe.
This little guy is a lot of fun for this old fart. Hilarious, and fun.Exceedingly recommended. For me, that's OK, this is not that kind of experience.I REALLY like the battery, which works adequately. There are no tone controls. Very nice, very straightforward.I had to laugh when we unpacked this at Christmas; my Gen-Z daughter was like 'how do you turn it off?' and I told her 'just turn the volume all the way down.' When it clicked off she had this look of amazement on her face, appreciate she'd just started up a Model T or something! You can plug in a thumb drive full of MP3s to play, but there's no real UI to navigate or select the files. The sound is less good when connecting a phone via Bluetooth to play music. The sound is good for FM radio, but not so great for the bluetooth or USB connector. Still, this is not a deal breaker for me.The extras are agreeable, but not necessary to us. Now and then when cooking we need to plug in a rice cooker or something; it's quite handy to be able to unplug the radio and still apply it for a while. It's basically a tabletop AM/FM radio, but it has a nice retro look, with faux woodgrain finish and actual dials to tune to a station, adjust the volume and turn it off.

Excellent radio. Substantial sound from a small instrument and the carrying case is great
This is an unexpected well created and functional radio. It is able to receive AM stations in my location where other AM radios are silent. This is the second RADDY RF886 I've got from Dropy and I highly suggest it, if you are looking for a small, simple to utilize all purpose radio (530KHz-30MHz, 30MHz-199MHz, with Weather Radio) that is rechargeable with a clock, backlight, telescoping antenna, clip-on long-wire antenna, manual, and earphone ready. Can't beat the price....Enjoy

Detail rich and superb looking radio. A rare combo...
Initial impressions: Very fine design, build, features, value. I'll uopdate if any negatives surface, but so far delighted with my option. There is a lot packed into this petite but capable radio, but the care that went into its design, construction, documentation, and ongoing support (mine cam with latest 3.3 firmware - upgradable if I recall). I shopped long and hard for this. Sound is more than adequate in volume and caliber (optimized by default for speech, perhaps - my general preference for a bug-out radio.) There are several alike contenders - initially I was tempted by the comparable Crane offering, but it was nearly double the price, and dated in a few respects compared to this.

So many bands in one small package
This is a very well built radio with a super cool high tech look and feel. It has a long built in antenna and an optional wire antenna that will greatly enhance reception. I'm having a blast listening to the short wave channel, but have not heard any aircraft transmissions yet. It's also a VHF, FM, AM and Weather band radio. Comes with a nice little carrying case with room to include accessories, including earbuds, wire antenna, USB-C charging cable, etc. My one wish is that they provided a quick start guide. It took awhile to figure out how to even turn this on. That should be simple and intuitive. Overall though, it's a fun radio and full of features I'll be exploring for a long while, including bluetooth connectivity and a sim card slot so you can bring along your favorite tracks - although frankly those are always at the ready on my iPhone. At 68, it makes me feel like a kid again, and if I had received this as a kid I would have lost my mind!
