FAQs
What is a horse fly sheet?
A horse fly sheet is a lightweight, breathable blanket made of fine mesh fabric designed to protect horses from biting insects and UV rays during spring and summer. Unlike waterproof turnout rugs, it maximizes airflow to prevent the horse from overheating while keeping pests away from the skin.
What is the most durable fly sheet for horses?
The most durable fly sheets are constructed from tightly woven, high-tensile polyester or nylon mesh materials that resist tearing from pasture activity and rubbing. Features like reinforced stitching and heavy-duty buckles further extend the lifespan of the protective sheet.
Are horse fly sheets waterproof?
No, standard horse fly sheets are not waterproof because they are specifically engineered with an open-weave mesh design to prioritize ventilation and cooling. If they were waterproof, they would trap sweat and heat, causing the horse to overheat in summer weather.
Is this Resistance fly sheet an authentic imported product available in India?
Yes, this is an authentic Resistance brand product imported directly from the USA. Dropy India sources directly from verified American suppliers to ensure Indian equestrians receive genuine, high-quality international horse care gear.
How do I choose the right size fly sheet for my horse?
To find the correct fit, measure your horse from the center of the chest, around the widest part of the shoulder, and straight back to the center of the tail. This specific sheet variant is designed for horses requiring a size of 74 inches.
