Crafted from a premium, lightweight fine mesh fabric, this equine protective cover provides an effective barrier against the most troublesome biting insects and flies while maintaining exceptional airflow across the coat. This advanced ventilation prevents overheating, keeping your horse cool and comfortable in the pasture or stable.
Beyond insect defense, the tight mesh construction shields your horse from harmful solar radiation, reducing the risk of coat bleaching and sun damage. Engineered for a secure and stable fit, the sheet incorporates low cross surcingles, a dual buckle front closure system, a protective tail cover, and adjustable elastic leg straps that prevent shifting during movement. The vibrant orange body contrasted with a classic grey trim ensures high visibility and a distinctive aesthetic in the field.
Ideal for horses requiring reliable summer relief, this imported horse apparel delivers practical utility and durable performance.
How to use
- Place the fly sheet gently over your horse's back, aligning the center seam with the spine.
- Fasten the double buckle front closures at the chest, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit that allows breathing room.
- Secure the low cross surcingles under the belly, crossing them to form an X.
- Pass the elastic leg straps through the hind legs and clip them securely, adjusting the sliders so they are loose enough to allow unrestricted movement but tight enough to prevent the blanket from shifting or flipping.

FAQs
What is the purpose of a fly sheet?
A fly sheet is designed to protect horses from biting insects, flies, and harmful UV sun rays during warm weather. It helps prevent skin irritation, coat bleaching, and insect-borne discomfort while remaining lightweight and breathable.
What are fly sheets made of?
Most quality fly sheets are made from lightweight, breathable synthetic fabrics like fine polyester or nylon mesh. This material provides a physical barrier against bugs while letting air flow freely to keep the animal cool.
How do you clean and maintain a mesh horse sheet?
Gently brush off dry dirt and debris before washing. Secure all straps and buckles, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle using mild detergent, and line dry completely before storing.
Is this Rugged Ride fly sheet an authentic USA import available in India?
Yes, this product is an authentic USA import sourced directly from premium suppliers in the United States. Dropy India ensures that Indian horse owners receive genuine, high-quality international equestrian gear.
How do the adjustable leg straps help with horse comfort?
