    Love it

I was looking for another monitor to be able to see more stuff with it at the same time while playing or maybe use it for my ps5 while also using my PC and I don't have space for a substantial monitor. This monitor does the job very effectively, also it was delivered remarkably rapid.

Auto detect does the job perfect.

I wished for to work with this unit as a little benchtop monitor during testing and repair of other equipment and in particular I wanted a display device where the inputs were on the sides, not the back.First impressions: I was surprised by the build standard, it doesn't feel inexpensive or appreciate it is lacking in any way. You can't turn this off. HDMI from the Kaico OSSC upscaling 15 KHz RGB. But I wanted to at least try this out. You can power it from a USB-C cable while charging, or even with the battery backside removed. I tested this with a Switch 2 in docked mode. There's no blurring or ghosting so I guess it's a current IPS panel. Composite (CVBS). VGA with a 15 KHz source. For a little benchtop monitor with a lot of inputs and a truly decent quality display this fits the bill perfectly. Tested with a Data East Robocop PCB. HDMI. It's not a large deal IMO.There's an overlay at the highest of the screen that without fail shows the battery level and the input source. The user interface is simple and effortless to navigate and the buttons are responsive. The display is extremely good; pleasant black levels, decent contrast and brightness, good sharpness, and correct colors. I got mixed results with this:3a. The composite video quality seems excellent. I played around with all the settings and line multiplier settings and nothing operated. So for upscaled arcade games I'd say YMMV and don't be surprised if the picture looks a little weird.Cons:The monitor does run kinda hot when it's on. Given that a lot of arcade games have video signals that are quite out of spec this isn't too surprising, but it's also one of the weirder failure modes I've seen. It's possible other upscalers that do more post-processing on the video signal may work better and this concern is specific to the OSSC along with specific arcade games. It's not pixel perfect but the video craftsmanship is way, way better than any CVBS to HDMI converter I've ever seen. What happens is that the picture is displayed fine but it seems to sample random scanlines across random frames, so while the picture is stable in terms of synchronization the individual scanlines don't all update at the same time so scrolling or movement seems very weird. Everything seems superb as expected. It has a removable battery pack. It can't detect a display signal.3. It is stretched out to the 16:9 ratio and you can't change that, but the display is shown completely with nothing cut off and it shows a decent amount of the overscan area too. I also tried with a Raspberry Pi 5 and it also looks nice, though the screen resolution is rather small so the desktop details are harder to see at 1080p. For example if you want to run a memory test on an arcade board or boot into the title screen it's fine. Superb photo standard.3b. This, incredibly weirdly, does not work as expected. This is nice due to the fact there are *no* picture controls of any kind other than the backlight intensity, but thankfully it seems great right out of the box.Now on to the inputs tested:1. I tried this with a PC-Engine. It's just enjoy looking at a PC monitor in that regard. Exceedingly recommended. There seems to be no lag at all and I tried a scarce fast paced games (Blazing Lazers, Gates of Thunder, etc.) without problems. This doesn't work which is predicted, the VGA standard starts at 31 KHz. It plays audio from the HDMI source but you can't adjust the volume, but the default level is fine.2. There also seems to be no lag here when running Cyberpunk 2077. Tested with a Namco Point Blank PCB. The same source is fine on a CRT.For static images or displays that update infrequently it's still quite usable, and over time sufficient random lines are sampled over time that you can see the full image after a second or two. Everything was fine. It doesn't block much of the screen, but be aware that it's consistently going to be present.Overall this unit was way finer than I expected, and all the regular video sources worked great. This was a real surprise.2.

Worked superb for our install. Nothing fancy, but it's the right price and gets the job done.
