FAQs
How does SmallRig magic arm work?
The SmallRig magic arm operates using a mechanical friction system controlled by a central wingnut. When you loosen the wingnut, both ball heads on either end release, allowing full three hundred sixty degree rotation. Tightening the central lever locks both joints simultaneously to hold your accessory firmly in place.
What is the maximum payload capacity of the SmallRig 2158 magic arm?
Each compact articulating arm is designed to safely support a maximum weight capacity of under one kilogram. This makes it ideal for lightweight production accessories like small on-camera monitors, wireless receivers, microphones, and compact led video lights.
Can I use these magic arms with third-party camera cages?
Yes, these magic arms feature industry-standard one-fourth inch twenty mounting screws on both ends. This universal compatibility allows them to work flawlessly with any brand of camera cage, top plate, or handle that utilizes standard threaded holes.
