FAQs
What wire can go in a kiln?
Specialized high-temperature refractory metals like tungsten wire can withstand extreme kiln heat up to 1600 degrees Celsius. Standard wires will melt or oxidize at ceramic firing temperatures, making tungsten essential for hanging supports.
What is the melting point of tungsten wire?
Tungsten has an extremely high melting point, making it exceptionally well-suited for high-temperature industrial, laboratory, and pottery kiln applications where standard metals fail.
Can a 1mm tungsten wire hold heavy ceramic pieces?
A 1mm diameter wire is ideal for lightweight items like small pendants, beads, and delicate ornaments. For heavier ceramic pieces, thicker wire diameters or alternative kiln supports should be used to prevent sagging.
Are these USA-imported SoClaay tungsten wires authentic on Dropy India?
Yes, Dropy sources all beauty, skincare, personal care, and specialized craft products directly from the USA, ensuring 100% authenticity for Indian consumers.
How should I space items when hanging them with tungsten wire in a kiln?
Maintain adequate gaps between all hanging items to prevent pieces from fusing together during thermal expansion and natural shifting throughout the firing process.
