FAQs
What year is PSP-2000?
The PlayStation Portable 2000 series was originally introduced by Sony in September 2007. It arrived as the first major hardware redesign of the original handheld console, featuring a significantly slimmer and lighter chassis alongside double the internal system memory.
How to tell if PSP is 1000 or 2000?
The easiest way to distinguish between the models is by checking the physical thickness and weight, as the 2000 series is much thinner and lighter than the original 1000. Additionally, the 2000 model has a redesigned, flush optical disc door and speakers positioned on the top front face rather than the bottom.
Can you still buy PSP games?
While the official digital storefront has been discontinued for direct console browsing, physical Universal Media Disc games can still be purchased through secondary retro gaming marketplaces. Digital purchases previously tied to your account can also generally be redownloaded through your transaction history.
