FAQs
Should I use a SATA power splitter or a Molex to multiple SATA adapter?
Using a high-quality Molex to dual SATA adapter like this StarTech cable is an excellent choice when your power supply runs out of native SATA connectors. Molex connections carry a high current capacity, which safely handles the peak start-up power required by multiple internal drives.
What is the wire gauge of this StarTech adapter cable?
This power splitter cable features 18 AWG wire gauge. This thicker wire standard ensures stable power delivery and prevents overheating, making it safe for continuous heavy-duty use with high-performance storage drives.
Can I use this cable to power both an SSD and a hard drive simultaneously?
Yes, you can easily connect any combination of two standard SATA devices, including solid-state drives, mechanical hard disks, or internal optical drives, as long as your power supply provides sufficient total wattage.
Is this StarTech power cable adapter an authentic import available in India?
Yes, this is an authentic product sourced directly from the USA. Dropy India ensures that all imported computer components and electronic accessories are 100% genuine and delivered safely to tech enthusiasts across India.
