Covering an expansive 16.6x zoom range, this versatile lens provides a 28.8-480mm full-frame equivalent focal range, making it the perfect single-lens solution for travel, wildlife, sports, and portrait photography.

Photographers no longer need to carry and swap multiple heavy lenses while out in the field. This lens features Tamron proprietary Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive linear motor focus mechanism for ultra-fast, silent, and highly precise autofocus tracking, ensuring you never miss a fleeting moment.

To counter handheld camera shake at ultra-telephoto focal lengths or in challenging low-light environments, it is equipped with a highly effective Vibration Compensation system. Outdoor shooters will appreciate the robust, moisture-resistant construction and a protective fluorine coating on the front element that shrugs off dust and smudges.

Additionally, a remarkable maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 allows for stunning close-up macro photography with a minimum object distance of just 5.9 inches at the wide end, capturing intricate details with exceptional clarity.
