Description
The TARFEPA Horse Fly Sheet is premium equine summer apparel designed to provide exceptional protection and comfort for your horse or pony during warmer months. Engineered from high-quality polyester mesh, this lightweight sheet promotes continuous air circulation to keep your equine companion cool and well-ventilated while stationed in the pasture, barn, or stable. Beyond insect defense, the high-performance material blocks harmful ultraviolet rays, safeguarding sensitive skin and preventing the horse's coat from bleaching under the harsh summer sun.
This standard neck sheet is specifically engineered with a soft, anti-chafing inner shoulder lining that minimizes friction and reduces the risk of painful rubbing or hair loss. Rust-resistant stainless steel hardware ensures long-lasting durability through changing weather. Equipped with a double buckle front closure, adjustable low cross surcingles, and removable leg straps, it offers a secure, customizable fit that stays put during movement.
A full wrap tail flap completes the design for maximized rear coverage against biting pests.
How to use
- Place the fly sheet gently over your horse's back, centering it along the spine.
- Fasten the double buckle front chest closures, adjusting them for a secure but comfortable fit around the neck and shoulders.
- Secure the low cross surcingles underneath the belly, ensuring they are loose enough to allow comfort but tight enough to prevent legs from getting caught.
- Fasten and adjust the removable leg straps around the hind legs.
- Ensure the tail flap hangs freely.

FAQs
Can a horse wear a fly sheet 24-7?
Yes, horses can wear a fly sheet continuously, provided it is well-fitting and highly breathable. However, you should remove it daily to check for rubbing, skin irritation, or shifts in fit.
Do fly sheets really work for horses?
Yes, they create an effective physical barrier that prevents flies, mosquitoes, and gnats from biting. They also shield the horse from ultraviolet rays and keep dust off the coat.
Are horse fly sheets waterproof?
No, this summer fly sheet is made of an open-weave polyester mesh designed for maximum airflow and cooling. It will allow rainwater to pass through and is not meant to keep the horse dry.
Is this TARFEPA horse sheet an authentic import available in India?
Yes, this product is a 100 percent authentic USA import. Dropy sources these premium equine care items directly from trusted suppliers in the USA to ensure genuine quality for Indian horse owners.
How should I clean and maintain this mesh fly sheet?
Machine wash the sheet in cold water on a gentle cycle using a dedicated blanket wash. Avoid using fabric softeners as they can clog the mesh pores, and always air dry instead of using a machine dryer.
