Love the odd form factor and radio sensitivity.

Have it hanging on the wall by the shower. I even hear some lows in the music which is a bonus. The sound is quite good, and loud if you want, for a compact speaker. A wonderful little radio for the rate. Would definitely get again. Remarkably simple to operate, and a pleasant compact design. Pulls in stations that I could not get on my other little radio I had for years.

    Superb little HF receiver

I've only had it one day after spending a week researching. The sound is transparent as a bell, you can almost hear the violinist breathing! I don't want to spend time figuring out how to get music, when I used to just put the damn thing on and there it was! And that is exactly what this Panasonic does...properly. They don't cost you money replacing every three months like batteries) and play it off the terrific speaker built into it. BUT...it's light and portable and small sufficient (about the size of the old beach radios) to take it with me and put it rear without a lot of effort.Almost all the MP3 type players (even the ones with hundreds of good reviews) had enough bad reviews to sound more legit than the 4 & 5 stars ones....a waste of money. It (they) worked great for about 6 months and after replacing it only did the job for 3 months. that maybe just a petite radio would do. I'm not that cool...gullible o rich!A SPACIOUS THANK YOU to G. I have a $400 KLM 200 redwood two piece radio...the cats meow years ago...outside and inside antennas. I'm hoping it lasts but if it doesn't I'll just get another ... a bargain even at $24.00...especially at $24. I'll plug the radio into the wall (yep that works, remember plugs? This $24 Panasonic has a stronger clearer speaker.I only wish two things...that it was a bit smaller so I could balance it on my treadmill, and that the headphone sound was not monaural. I will update if it implodes!Originally I wished for a hand held MP3 player appreciate the one I had (Scandisk). I read every review. That's when the real work began. The world of radio hardware is evaporating before the world of digital is fully ready. Ritter von Olfers-Batock! I compromised, and am a thrilled camper. I compromised large time since a sensible person wrote a fantastic review for us partial Luddites...(G. Now my only issue is I'm enjoying it so much in my bedroom I don't want to take it down to our "gym". It doesn't pick up AM stations all that well (but it does pick up the ones with the most ads!)....but I rarely listen to AM and it gets all the fine FM stations remarkably wll. Ritter von Olfers-Batock). Finally I decided unless you want to spend over $100 to work out on you exercise equipment with music, spend time loading it off the computer etc.

    Exceedingly sensitive and selective

It's a wonderful little radio. It isn't all that light on batteries and will flatten a set in two days or so from fully charged (Better batteries might last a little longer, the ones I've chosen are eveready which while reputable, well superior batteries do exist), but if the charge circuiit isn't isolated and the charger doesn't keep up with the rate of consumption then the batteried will slowly run down even if the device is plugged into grid power. If you do get one and do take it on n adventure which will see you away from residence for more than a few hours I'd say take a a couple of extra batteries along so that you don't take the radio out to let it play music in the backgrouond and find that the batteries are dead. On a picnic, on a road trip or some other kind of little adventure. It does chuff when it's tuned but it makes up for that by having an autotune detail (seek). The flaw? It's very small and would be absolutely easy to take anywhere, to a game farm for a little entertaimnet when screens aren't an appealing thought. It's not that it's not a high fidelity device and that the speaker isn't a powerful speaker, which is something that's possible today but wasn't possible when this device was originally designed (Also it's quite charming and a little nostalgic that the speaker isn't the same thing that one might get in a bass boosted sound bar). The flaw is to do with the way batteries are dealt with by the little radio. It's a great toy and an interesting and fun thing to have.It has a squelch characteristic, so that even when the radion signal is delicate or subject to inteference the little radio can make it more audible and clearer to hear. It can charge batteries but remarkably slowly, putting a couple of L-Ion rechargables in it would seem to be a decent idea. Hearing the converrsations between airline pilots is interesting too. But it seems that the radio chews through them even if it's plugged into the wall outlet. It's unquestionable a tool you want to use for that purpose. There are things that happen way up above our heads, interactions between people up there, that we would otherwise be unaware of, and they're interesting. One can listen to CB or Ham radio and there are still people who broadcast minuscule radio stations which exist only for a scarce hours a week. It has a sleep mode so if you're listening and you fall asleep the radio will turn itself off after a pre-determined amount of time (The one sleeping in this case is you, not the radio). I've had to take the batteries out and put them into a charger a not many times when I unplugged it from the wall and discovered that the batteries were dead. It has every attribute one could want from aradio and then some. It has a superb tuner, it has great features which help make it much easier to employ, for instance it can scan for channels which makes it easier to find air band frequencies which are in use rather than having to scan manually, arrive at a frequency which is in use but not in apply at the moment that you scan so there's nothing to hear and no way for an uninitiated listener to know that they are on the suitable channel so to speak. A radio favor this, which has a reciever that can tune into almost any frequency used for radio by people is a little window on a world that exists but is otherwise invisible. It is genuinely a splendid device, if you want to hear what humans, even ones who are quite far away, are putting into the world using radio waves, this thing is absolutely on your side.

    Greatest radio i've ever acquired

Radio pickups a lot of stations but the shortwave radio doesn't pick up very many at least so far. When I get some batteries for it I will try it again cuz sometimes electronic interference causes you not to get a good signal. Still cause I would recommend it for the AM radio alone.
