FAQs
Are all snow blower shear pins the same?
No, shear pins vary significantly in length, diameter, thread size, and shoulder design depending on the specific snow blower brand and model. Using an incorrect size or incorrect grade can damage your equipment gearbox.
Can I use a bolt instead of a shear pin?
You should never replace a specialized shear pin with a standard hardware store bolt. Standard bolts do not break under excessive stress, which can cause severe, costly damage to your snow blower's gearbox if the auger jams.
Should snowblower shear pins be tight?
Shear pin nuts should be tightened securely, but avoid over-tightening them to the point where they crush the auger tubing or pre-stress the pin, which could cause premature failure.
Are these replacement shear pins authentic USA-imported parts available on Dropy India?
