  Instant smooth, soft, hydrated skin

  Prefacing by saying I've loved the few torriden products I've tried-- face wash, serum, sheet mask-- so I had high expectations about this modeling mask pack. I received it over a year ago but never got around to testing it out because it seemed like a lot of work compared to just throwing on a sheet/hydrogel mask or even an overnight cream mask. Finally had time tonight after spending a day out in the city with SPF and makeup and wanted something that would help my skin reset. Some tips that I found helpful after watching some of the video demos/reviews: - Have everything ready to go-- cup/bowl, spatula, water (or stand by sink) - If you aren't sure how much water to add, do it tbsp by tbsp with quick stir to check the consistency. I didn't have anything to measure with in my bathroom so I added a bit of water, quickly stirred, noticed it was still too thick/clumpy, and did that 2 more times in less than a min. - Apply quickly. The mask does dry relatively quickly so I slopped it onto my face as quickly as possible. I did try to make thicker layers around all the edges and that helped when it was time to peel off. It's worth using up all or as much as the mask pack as possible. I double layered in some spots after I did an initial first round application. The matcha scent is yummy, light and pleasant rather than overpowering. I left the pack on for 30min before peeling off and, for the most part, it all peeled off in one go. There were some areas that peeled off in layers due to how I applied in 2 rounds. The only areas that didn't peel as cleanly were, understandably, my hair line (lots of pp baby hairs), between the eyes, and parts of the chin area. I got the rest of the bits off with a toner pad per instructions. At one point as I was unpeeling, I thought the mask hadn't dried yet, but it was actually the moisture that stayed trapped under the mask and hydrated my skin (you might be able to see it in one of the photos from the skin side vs the outer side. My skin felt softer, smoother, and moisturized (though I still finished with my usual PM of serum, moisturizer, eye cream) for extra hydration. I feel like if you can get the consistency, timing, and application down, this is a great mask pack to use once in a while.

  Really nice cooling sensation

  This is a refill kit, so you get the packets but no cup or applicator is included. I used a paper cup and a silicone beauty mask spatula that I own for applying masks. I wasn't sure how much to use, so I poured the whole packet into the cup and ended up making too much. I think I should've used half. I added water and made a thick paste then applied it to my face. The package says it is cooling, and I definitely felt a cooling sensation. It feels really good when you put it on. I waited about 15 minutes according to the directions and let it dry before peeling off. My skin felt very soft afterward. I would definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a cooling face mask treatment.

  Modeling Mask

  It's so fun to make your "own" mask. Just add water (make sure you measure correctly or else it'll be too watery). Leave it on for your face for a few minutes and peel it off. It's great! Love the brand

  Don't use without researching first

  This refill mask pack doesn't include a container or spatula which makes mixing a bit tricky. The instructions say to mix a 1:1 ratio of powder to water with 42 to 47 ml of water (about 3 tablespoons). I recommend watching videos from others who have used the mask to see the ideal consistency of the mask, as well as tips on application and removal. It would have been helpful if the product listing had provided these videos directly to save me the effort of searching for them. Because my mixture was slightly too watery the first time I tried this mask. It also had a lot of dry pockets because I was trying to mix it with a spoon. Then I applied the mixture to my face thinly like I would a clay mask; my thinking was that thinner layers meant it would dry faster. I ended up with about 2/3 of the mixture left in the bowl and I just threw it away, thinking I didn't need so much after all. But after watching other people use this product, I learned that the mixture needs to be thicker and I really should pack it on and use it all up. Applying a thin layer made removal very difficult since it came off in pieces instead of one smooth peel which happens when you apply a thick amount. Also, I wasn't careful and got it in my hair which was more annoying to remove. Here's a pro tip: moisten the edges and dry parts before removal to make peeling easier. Additionally, using a spatula to mix the mask was also much more effective. The mask's effects are similar to overnight gel masks. It enhances skincare absorption, which is great for occasional use when my skin needs extra hydration or soothing. One packet can make two masks if you stick to the recommended measurements. However, cleanup requires caution. Do not throw this down your drain, it does solidify after drying and will clog your pipes. Instead, let it dry in the bowl and wipe it with a tissue/paper towel and throw that in the trash.
