I've been using this dark spot correcting serum for a few weeks, and overall it's a good addition to my skincare routine. The texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly, which makes it easy to layer with other products without feeling heavy or sticky.The combination of niacinamide and glutathione seems effective for improving overall skin tone. My skin looks a bit brighter and more even with consistent use, especially around areas that used to look slightly dull.It also works well under moisturizer and sunscreen, and the 50ml size is generous compared to many other serums, so it feels like good value for daily use.The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the results on dark spots are gradual. It takes consistent use over time to notice clear improvement, so it's not an instant solution.Overall, this is a gentle and reliable serum for anyone looking to improve skin brightness and uneven tone. It fits well into a daily skincare routine and feels comfortable on the skin.

I've either really loved or been really disappointed with the most recent string of Tosowoong releases but this one is a major winner. It's way better than their previous iteration of this type of serum that came out last year, which I tried but did not love. I like it even more than I liked the new rice cream, which I still love and in fact will be happy to pair with this serum for better results. The ingredient list is stellar with less filler/cheap ingredients than some of their other recent releases.Basically everything you want for brightening is in here; I love the gel formula; I love that it's in a tube for easy application; I love that the dry-down is minimally tacky, especially for a rice bran product. I love that this has no added fragrance (this used to be a given for Tosowoong but isn't anymore). It doesn't overdo it on the niacinamide because people think "more is better" and love to buy higher concentrations even without increased efficacy. Just a great all around product that reminds me of their new releases 3 or 4 years ago.Just keep in mind that with this type of brightening product, progress will be gradually, especially with fading dark spots. This isn't a laser treatment and it won't give overnight results. Topical products often work best for brightening if layered, so I'd suggest using a brightening cream as well (while I love the Tosowoong rice cream as mentioned above, AXIS-Y's Dark Spot Correcting Glow Cream is also a fantastic option that I also own and love). The key is to chose products that feel good on your skin and that you will use because consistency matters here. With daily use you can start to see results in about 6 weeks, with more significant progress in 2-3 months.But the most important thing: YOU MUST WEAR SUNSCREEN DAILY! Without it, any progress you make with this serum will be undone as you acquire new damage. Topical products only work if your skin is allowed to heal, and it can't do that if you continue to get sun damage. While tinted mineral sunscreens are often the most recommended for hyperpigmentation and melasma, even chemical filters are better than nothing. PROTECT YOUR SKIN!This now beats out both the rice cream and the 8 Hyaluron Skin Booster Serum to be my newly crowned favorite 2026 Tosowoong release.Hope that helps!

Dark spots are a little lighter. Love the pump dispenser on the tube rather than having to squeeze the tube.

Overall, I think this is an ideal dark spot serum for those with sensitive skin. It may not be as effective on the most stubborn marks as one with very strong ingredients but those would be far more irritating; for lesser or moderate dark spots, this is a fantastic option.I got this dark spot serum to fade some post acne pigmentation on my cheeks. I've also had great experiences with other TOSOWOONG products so I was optimistic. I've been using it for just under two weeks and I think I'm starting to see subtle improvement, but more in terms of tone and hydration; it's too early for dark spots to really change for any product. I'd expect that to start showing after 6-8 weeks, which is longer than I should leave it to write this review, so I'll comment on my experience so far. Based on that though and my past experiences with the brand, I'm optimistic.Based on the ingredients, this is the most gentle of the dark spot serums I've tried. That means I can use it every day and my skin is fine with it, but the flip side is that it's not going to help with really stubborn dark spots (but it is appropriate for the milder ones). So, what I've been doing is using a different serum on those few more stubborn spots and then using this serum more liberally elsewhere.What's also nice with this serum vs the others I've tried is that it has more support for hydration. It does also have some brightening and glow focused ingredients, which not all do, but they're gentler. So, there's definitely a theme of gentleness here and that's something I've found across the TOSOWOONG products I've tried. My skin tolerates them exceptionally well and has had no irritation so I don't have to think about them as much (unlike with some more irritating products where I have to make sure to only use them every second or third day at most).I also noted that it was clear and absorbed well. I ended up using it in the mornings and was usually putting it on after washing my face, then I'd go drink my coffee or eat breakfast, and then come back and put on makeup if I was wearing it that day. That gave it tons of time to absorb but I don't think it needed all that; it felt like it was absorbing quickly. I can also share that with that use I didn't have any problem layering makeup on top of it (there wasn't any pilling).Lastly, I can share that I didn't find it to have any smell. So if scents are something that irritate you, that's not a factor with this product either.
