FAQs
Is food-grade mineral oil or beeswax better for cutting boards?
Mineral oil is generally preferred for regular deep conditioning as it penetrates deep into the wood fibers to prevent cracking. Beeswax is often used as a secondary top coat to provide a water-resistant barrier, but mineral oil remains the essential base treatment.
What surfaces can I use this mineral oil on?
This oil is safe for use on all wooden cutting boards, butcher blocks, and countertops. It is also suitable for sealing and protecting marble, granite, soapstone, and polishing stainless steel surfaces.
Is mineral oil USP food-grade?
Yes, USP (United States Pharmacopeia) grade indicates that the mineral oil meets the strict purity and quality standards required for food-contact surfaces.
Is this an authentic USA imported product?
Yes, Dropy India sources this product directly from the USA to ensure you receive an authentic, high-quality, and reliable import.
How often should I apply this oil to my cutting board?
For optimal maintenance, apply the oil once a month or whenever the wood appears dry or dull. If the board is used heavily, you may choose to treat it more frequently to maintain its moisture barrier.
