FAQs
What is a spider gasket on a pool filter?
A spider gasket is a multi-spoke rubber seal located inside a pool filter multiport valve. It directs water flow during different filter operations like backwashing, rinsing, and filtering, and prevents water from leaking between ports.
How to replace pentair spider gasket?
To replace the gasket, shut off the system pump, remove the screws securing the valve top cover, lift out the diverter assembly, peel away the old gasket, clean the groove, and insert the replacement spider gasket securely into the channel.
What adhesive for multiport pool valve spider gasket?
Many replacement spider gaskets are designed to press directly into clean grooves without adhesive, but a specialized waterproof silicone or rubber adhesive can be used sparingly if recommended for your specific valve housing model.
