Product details

Description

The Uxcell Passive Buzzer Module KY-006 is an essential electronic component designed for hobbyists, students, and engineers working with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32. Unlike active buzzers that emit a single preset tone upon receiving direct current, this passive piezoelectric buzzer requires an external alternating audio signal or Pulse Width Modulation input to produce a wide range of varying frequencies and acoustic alerts.

Featuring a compact PCB size of 18.5 millimeters by 15 millimeters, it integrates easily into breadboard prototyping setups, robotics chassis, and custom electronic alarm systems. Operating across a flexible working voltage range from 1.5 volts to 15 volts DC, it delivers clear audio output signals between 1.5 kilohertz and 2.5 kilohertz.

Whether you are building security alarms, digital timers, or experimenting with basic sensor knowledge, this versatile module provides reliable performance for all your DIY programming and sound generation needs.

How to use

Connect the Ground pin (GND) to the ground rail, the VCC pin to your power source between 1.5V and 15V DC, and the Signal pin to a digital or PWM output pin on your microcontroller like Arduino to program custom tones and frequencies.

    handy little beeper module

bought this for building a small custom digital timer circuit. it requires pwm input to make tones which worked nicely with the microcontroller once the code was sorted. very compact and responsive.

FAQs

What microcontroller are you using (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32)?

This passive buzzer module is fully compatible with popular microcontrollers including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32. You can easily control it using standard programming functions such as pulse width modulation or tone generation libraries.

Do you need a wiring guide or sample code?

Wiring is straightforward using the 3-pin configuration for Ground, Power, and Signal. Standard microcontroller sample codes utilizing tone functions will immediately drive the module to emit varying audio pitches.

What is the working voltage range of the KY-006 buzzer?

The module operates within a direct current voltage range of 1.5 volts to 15 volts. It consumes less than 25 milliamperes of working current during active operation.

Are these genuine USA-imported electronic components available in India?

Yes, Dropy sources these authentic items directly from the USA and delivers them securely to customers across India.

What type of signal does a passive buzzer require?

A passive buzzer requires an external alternating audio signal or square wave frequency to oscillate and create sound, unlike active buzzers which only need steady direct current power.
