Very Good Kerlix

A nice product and the same thing utilized by my home health nurse. Needless to say, I'm on my 4th box so I'm obviously still buying them even with my complications. I'm applying RX Nystatin powder EVERY change to combat the irritation and the yeast. Also it is not incredibly breathable, which sounds like a decent thing until you have to put it in a place that gets hot and sweaty and you start having yeast grow around your wound. I would advocate only buying one box of these until you're sure they'll be good for you. Not just right great if you have sensitive skin, the adhesive is constantly leaving irritation. Granted, I presently have such a serious wound infection that I have to go in for a corrective surgery...so I'm not sure how much of my problems are THAT and how much of them are the quality of the bordered gauze. I've got tons of gauze packed into my wound underneath this dressing and have to also tape it down with retention tape to have a hope of making it between changes without icky stuff coming out all over the sheets or my clothes. I also have a hard time keeping mine on if I get even the slightest bit sweaty in the night or something...the adhesive edges lift off and wound juice goes everywhere.

This is a superb Xeroform dressing, and gives overpriced Curad a run for its funds!Xeroform is not a manufacturer name, but a type of bandage. It hurts less, debrides continuously, and promotes healing.To save money, I unroll this spacious long bandage and chop into compact bits big plenty to cover the wound. Amazing. Bismuth is a mild antiseptic. I get a cotton gauze pad, soak in water, squeeze out, and use this as a base. Apply on wound, wrap lightly in cotton gauze wrap, tape off, done. Use 1 or 2 if you like. You can make your own too with Vaseline but it does not debride and wound hurts more. I cover with the X bandage then apply a dab of Solosite Wound Gel (also on Dropy) on it for cooling the wound and preventing bacteria access. What I realized was that this dressing was soothing to my raw open auto immune wound and also created an autolytic debridement action on it. Necrotic tissue gunk started to come off, sticking to this bandage, so wound became cleaner with apply. Change 2-3 x day.I can get 6 pieces out of one packet, so remarkably economical overall. They take muslin gauze, soak it in Vaseline (aka Petrolatum) and also add 3% Bismuth tribromophenate solution to it. I love this!!!With my pyoderma G wound, bismuth may be irritating it a little bit, but the in general benefits are superb.
