  wonderful freeze dried whole food

This is, in my opinion, the best value with the highest quality free dried whole natural cat food. I had already been getting the freeze dried minnows from this company that I have in my Dropy autoship. Some will be put off with the price, but for whole freeze dried real food, the price reflects the exceptional quality and health benefits. The odor is not overpowering. My kitties as well as the dogs absolutely love these.I have one kittie that usually turns up her nose with anything with salmon in it, but the tuna in this makes up for for the salmon in her opinion and she also loves the taste. I use this as a topper and throughout the day as treats in addition to their wet food diet. The size and texture are wonderful; they are not hard, nor soft, and the bag doesn't have a bottom full of powder like dry food can do. I have tried each flavor, and each was a winner, though there is slight pet preference for the beef and lamb flavor for the kitties.

Finally a freeze-dried food our cat actually goes crazy for

We've been trying to get more raw protein into our cat's diet and have tested a few of these freeze-dried options with mixed results. The salmon and tuna combo is apparently irresistible, our cat comes running down the stairs the second the bag opens. The size is a bit larger than our usual kibbles, but still small enough to eat easily and no bigger pieces to leave behind. The ingredient list is as clean as it gets, 96% meat, organs, and bone with no fillers, grains, or artificial anything. We use it as snacks most of the time and occasionally as a full meal, both work great. The 25 oz bag is a solid value compared to the smaller sizes and stays fresh well if kept sealed. Really hard to find a downside here.

This product is helping us provide a mostly meat diet to our kitties.

We've been trying pretty much every flavor of Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Cat Food, and this Salmon & Tuna flavor is definitely one of our favorites. We have seven cats, and while they all have their own preferences, they've all been enjoying this one. We've been transitioning them toward a mostly meat-based diet, but a few of our cats absolutely crave something crunchy with their meals, so these nibs have been a really nice middle ground. They give them that crunchy texture they're used to from regular kibble without being the same kind of carby food they grew up eating. I also noticed that this flavor looks quite different from some of the other varieties in terms of color, shape, and size, which I actually really like because it gives them some variety in texture and flavor. The pieces can be a little chunky sometimes, so I'll occasionally snap the larger ones in half, but it's really not a big deal. The ingredient list is another thing I appreciate because it's very simple and primarily meat-based. The smell is definitely strong, though! Opening the bag is basically an invitation to get hit in the face with fish, so I've learned not to lean over it while scooping. I also don't leave large amounts sitting out for long periods because the smell can definitely take over the room. The resealable bag does a good job of keeping the food fresh, and we're making sure to finish each bag within the recommended 30 days. Overall, I really like having these around for the cats who still want that crunchy experience, and this Salmon & Tuna flavor has been one of the biggest hits in our house. They get excited when I bring it out, and with seven cats, that's saying something. We'll definitely be ordering more.

Excellent High-Value Treats That Don't Turn Into Protein Dust

My cats absolutely love the Vital Essentials Salmon & Tuna Nibs. I mostly use them as a topper or high-value treat, and they're especially useful when my cats suddenly decide they're bored with whatever food they were happily eating the day before. A little sprinkle of these crunchy nibs on top usually gets their attention immediately. I really like the simple, raw, grain-free ingredient approach, and it's nice having a crunchy option that doesn't feel like a typical filler-heavy dry food. The tiny nibs are also a great size for training and enrichment games because I can give a few at a time without making the treats too bulky. The salmon and tuna smell is apparently irresistible to my cats, because the second they hear the bag open, they come running. I do keep an eye on portions since freeze-dried food can be pretty calorie-dense, especially when I'm using it frequently as treats or toppers. Overall, these have become a favorite in our house, and my cats' completely ridiculous reaction whenever I bring out the bag says pretty much everything about how much they enjoy them.
