  Smooth, Calm, and Balanced Skin

  I have been a fan of VT cosmetics ever since I used their product for the first time, so was excited to try this serum out. And, just like all the other VT products I use, this serum became one of my favs.I have tried plenty of "shake to mix" skincare products and this is one of them. Once you shake it up, it turns into this light, milky texture that feels super refreshing going on -- kind of like a serum and moisturizer in one. It absorbs quickly but still leaves my skin feeling nicely hydrated.What I love most is how balanced my skin feels. I don't have oily skin type, but every once in a while, my t-zone will be shiny and I have to blot. However, since I've been using this serum, it keeps my oil in check without drying me out, my t-zone doesn't look shiny during the day, but still feels soft and hydrated underneath. I've also noticed it helps calm down redness and irritation pretty quickly which I wanted more than oil control anyway.The finish is smooth and non-sticky, so it layers really well with the rest of my routine (and under sunscreen and makeup too). Plus, the subtle matcha scent is nice -- it just makes the whole experience feel a little more calming.VT Match Cica Layer Serum has become a staple in my routine. It's lightweight, absorbs quickly, gentle & hydrating -- if your skin needs hydration and oil control without heaviness, this is an easy 5-star product at a great value.

  biphase hydrating and antioxidant serum; great texture for those of us with sensory sensitivities

  I ordered this serum because I love the idea of EGCG antioxidants in matcha, but I've resigned myself to only being able to enjoy them topically; try as I might, I just can't make myself like drinking it. I like to treat my skincare routine kind of like I do my diet: focus on a range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, healthy fats, nutraceuticals, etc based on the season and what my skin needs at various times. This serum fits right in with antioxidant matcha, ceramides (healthy fats), and emollient squalane. I love biphase skincare, and the consistency of this one is fabulous. After shaking, it is a thin milky texture that borders on watery (it didn't want to stay on the back of my hand very well for a swatch photo), which means it absorbs well and doesn't have a sticky or waxy texture. In fact, it dries to a more matte texture, which is great for me and my normal-to-dry skin since I'm layering with other skincare; I can also see it working well for oilier skin types to avoid adding too much shine during the day. This serum is free of floral fragrance, which is a big plus in my opinion. It seems like VT Cosmetics has really been paying attention to feedback across the board about Korean skincare products and created this without fragrance or stickiness to appease those of us with sensory sensitivities. The other thing about this that makes it so great for layering or flooding is that it plays well with other skincare both by not causing greasiness or pilling and by leaving out ingredients that can react with actives. I love the lightweight, simple feel of this serum and the more-matte finish that still looks like a hydrated glow but not a glazed sheen. When purchasing skincare, I generally go for high-end, luxe, or clinical grade, so to me the price point of this serum is an absolute steal of a value.
