My dog absolutely loved these pouches, and so did my two cats, who did not care one iota that this is "dog food" and demanded to try it themselves. All three of my pets loved this food and wanted more. And I think my favorite thing might have been that it took them all a long time to eat, so they weren't able to just inhale it like they often do with food.I typically feed raw or commercially prepared fresh food, but I like to have alternatives on hand for when we're traveling and need something on the road, or for when I want to make it easier on my pet sitter if the pets are staying home. I'm very picky about ingredients, and am happy to see that these pouches are basically fresh whole foods plus added vitamins and nothing more. No meals, no gums, no brewers yeast.These meals look and smell good enough for ME to eat--even my hubby said, "Those look good!"These are an excellent, high quality alternative to other shelf stable commercially prepared pet foods. But that also creates the only real downside to these--the cost. At about $0.75 per ounce, that's almost double what I pay for raw food delivered to my door. So that part is a little hard to swallow.I will probably order these again just to have on hand for travel, but the current cost makes it prohibitive for me to feed on a daily basis.

Picky boy approved
I've been a Wellness fan for a while so when I saw these protein bowls I figured they were worth a shot for my very picky boy. They are advertised as nutritionally complete, so I'm not worried about my boy missing out on what he needs.When I opened the pouch, I noticed the difference in texture. It's much different from typical wet food, less soupy and no gravy. It kind of looks like a homemade meal. I used this as a topper for my boy's usual Wellness Core+ Fish instead of a standalone meal. You can actually see real pieces of chicken, quinoa and cranberries in there. He seemed curious about dinner. Took one sniff and gobbled up his dinner. Odor for this pouch is a little weird (probably the quinoa), but my boy didn't seem to think so. Normally, I have to give him lots of love and tell him he's a good boy to get him to eat, so this was a nice change. He hasn't had any digestive issues either.For picky eaters or dogs with sensitive teeth who struggle with hard kibble, this seems like a fantastic option. Price point is a little high, but using this as a topper will stretch it out. I like that these are shelf stable for easy traveling and storage. We'll be keeping these on rotation in our wet food additions, but honestly with the complete nutrition profile you could easily use it as an everyday meal too. Two paws up from my very discerning dachshund.

We bought several different variations of this bowl, and my dog loves them all. They are an amazing way to provide a healthy supplement to her kibble diet without breaking the bank. As always, wellness uses high quality ingredients in this product, and my dog did not have any reactions when we introduced this into her diet. It looks kind of mushy when you squeeze it out of the bag, but there is not any odor. She wolfed it down, and would happily eat one of these at every meal. It definitely gets check marks for taste and pet preference! She did not have any digestive issue after eating this either. My only criticism is the portion size, which suggests that my medium sized dog should be eating 1.5 packs a meal. Given that there are only 6 packs in the box, this would be extremely expensive for regular pet consumption, which is why we are just using these as a topper instead. I would also note that the packaging of this is not really "dog" coded, and my husband did initially think that these were protein bowls for humans. Overall though these are a good value for the money given their high quality.
