FAQs
Do squirt guns work on cats?
Yes, when used as part of a consistent training program, a short burst of water can serve as a harmless, immediate interruption to unwanted behaviors like scratching furniture. It is important to never spray directly into the face and to always pair the correction with positive reinforcement.
Can you train a cat with a water spray?
Water sprays are commonly used as a tool to deter specific behaviors by creating an immediate, non-punitive distraction. For best results, use the spray the moment the unwanted behavior begins so the pet associates the action with the consequence.
