How to use
- Unscrew the flint spring from the bottom of the lighter insert and remove the old felt pad, cotton packing, and worn wick.
- Insert the new copper cotton wick through the chimney from the top, using the included needle if necessary, and weave it in an S-shape through the chamber.
- Pack the loose cotton wadding tightly around the woven wick to secure it.
- Place the cotton felt pad or rubber felt pad gasket over the opening, reinstall the flint and flint spring, and fill with lighter fluid.

This is the only maintenance kit you'll ever need for a standard lighter. The best part is the wicking trick: someone cleverly pre-attached the new wick to a long needle, which makes feeding it through the tiny hole incredibly simple - no more fighting with tweezers. It's built for Zippo, but it works on basically any other zippo like brand. Beyond the standard stuff, they even threw in replacement flint mechanisms and these little rubber seals to make the fluid last longer, addressing every single common issue. This lighter repair kit is definitely comprehensive. Made with Zippo lighters in mind, it should work with most of the knockoffs and clones out there. Not only does it come with several original Zippo-style wicks, it includes a really long cotton wick that's attached to a long needle at one end. The needle makes it super easy to start the wick in the hole, then pull it through, leaving enough in body of the lighter to soak up the fluid, snip it off and keep the rest for the next replacement. Very clever. The kit comes with 2 felt pads, and also 2 rubber "gaskets" that can either replace or fit over the pads. Theses gaskets have a hinged flap you pull open to add the fluid. There's also plenty of of cotton for restuffing your lighter, although frankly I've never heard of the cotton wearing out. To top it off there is a replacement flint spring assembly. This is specifically Zippo specification, but may work on some others. All-in-all a great kit for keeping your fluid-type lighters burning.
