Fantastic Radio!!
Works enjoy a transistor radio should. Plenty of volume and local stations come in vivid as a bell. For the funds this is a superb little radio. Took me a minute to figure that out but once I did it performs fine either way. There isn't much on the shortwave bands but I'm not sure what those are used for so I'm not going to worry about it now. I have a solar charger so I did utilize rechargeable Lithium batteries instead of disposable alkaline. Only concern I see is the diagram on the rear that shows which direction the alkaline batteries go in is BACKWARDS.
