  1. Turn off the television and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Allow the TV to cool down completely for at least one hour to avoid thermal injury.
  3. Locate and unscrew the lamp cover on the rear or side panel.
  4. Loosen the retaining screws securing the old lamp assembly.
  5. Use the built-in handle to gently pull the old module straight out.
  6. Align the new Boryli housing module correctly, slide it smoothly into the slot, and tighten the retaining screws securely.
  7. Reinstall the outer television compartment cover before plugging the power cord back in.

    I'm not a market analyst, but I projected that rear projection TVs would have weathered the HD platform storm. Furthermore, the screen of the 55" went out. I bought the bulb here on Dropy. I chose Sony as I believed their rear projection tech was top-tier.I purchased a 60" Sony rear projection, and some time later my mother purchased a 55" Sony rear projection.Circumstances forced me to let my 60" go.My mom moved recently. Her new place couldn't support a sizable screen. Mom said I could have it if I could fix. My reasons for backing the rear projection TV were simple.1. Rear projects gave a lot of screen for a lower price.I took the plunge with my rear projection TV choosing Sony as my manufacturer. Within a few quick mins without any instruction, I had the 55" up and running.I may acquire another bulb as a backup.Rear projection TVs weren't without their faults, but a quick and straightforward bulb swap still makes for an attractive feature. I obviously would have lost that bet. Everyone would not be willing to wall mount.2. Rear projections could be easily repaired.3.
