Surprised at how fine it does when pointed correctly - and smaller than I anticipated

I ordered this after looking at some reviews for this exact antenna. When the box arrived I was worried - the box was smaller than I expected for the price. But looks ARE deceiving with this antenna. Assemble was super easy - the stand clicks in, the amplifier plugs into USB for power, and the antenna features small LEDs to let you know it's working. I used a phone app that showed me the exact direction to point this for best reception - the channel I watch the most (for the Detroit Lions) is far away and you need to be almost spot on with direction to get it. I ran the channel scan on my TV and it found 195 channels. The real test came watching channel 2.1 - which every antenna I've tried drops almost as if it doesn't want me to watch a football game in piece. Not a single drop, and really clear reception. I then connected this to a Tablo 4k and let it scan for channels - again 195 found and every channel was super sharp and clear (the Tablo has an amazing amplifier which work well with this antenna and it's amplifier). Not having channels drop during a show makes this antenna a good value for the money - and proves it is doing what it needs to do very well.I cant understate how important it is to use an app to know where to point your antenna for your weakest channel. This type of antenna excels when it is pointed correctly to capture the weaker signals.

How One Plain Upgrade Thoroughly Reshaped How We Think About Streaming

Sometimes the best tech upgrades are the ones that are almost boringly simple - and that's exactly the compliment this antenna deserves. The Mohu Gateway Plus Amplified Indoor TV Antenna was incredibly easy to set up and use. Plug it in, connect it, scan for channels, and you're basically done. There was no fiddling, no constant repositioning, no "tech troubleshooting spiral." It just worked. What really made this antenna a standout for us was the financial wake-up call it triggered. We realized that a significant portion of what we were paying for Hulu (and similar streaming bundles) was simply for access to live local channels. Once we added the Mohu antenna, we were able to drop the live local channel add-on entirely. The result? Real savings. Enough savings, in fact, that we were able to rethink our entire streaming setup. For the same overall monthly cost, we added streaming services we'd been wanting to explore - Apple TV+, Max, and Paramount+ - while still keeping access to local broadcast channels.Even better, the Mohu Gateway Plus integrated seamlessly with our Tablo system. That meant we didn't lose recording capability at all. Local channels could still be recorded just as easily as before, only now without the recurring monthly fee attached to them.If you're paying a premium for live local channels through a streaming service, this antenna is absolutely worth considering. It's simple, reliable, and quietly powerful in how much control - and money - it gives back. In our case, it didn't just improve reception; it completely reshaped how we think about streaming.

    Exceptional antenna.

Excellent antenna. I've used Mohu before for an attic antenna, and it worked very well. After moving to a new house 1500 miles away, decided to try some " behind the TV" antennae. The first one ($25) got about 24 channels. The 2nd one ($30) about the same. This one picked up 51 channels very clearly. Top notch quality.
