Product details

Keep your large adventure companion warm and comfortable during cool-weather outings with the Ruffwear Climate Changer Dog Fleece Vest. Crafted specifically for active dogs, this technical winter coat delivers essential core warmth without adding unnecessary bulk or restricting movement. The vest's streamlined active fit extends over the hips and thighs to protect key muscle groups, allowing your dog to run, jump, and play naturally on trail hikes or morning walks.

Made from quick-drying, 100 percent recycled polyester fleece with an anti-pilling finish, this coat manages moisture and maintains its soft feel trip after trip. Side-release buckles allow for easy on-and-off application, while a smooth tricot collar lining prevents chafing against fur. The integrated back leash portal fits over most standard harnesses, and optional stretch leg loops ensure the vest stays secure in blustery conditions.

Finished with reflective trim and an integrated light loop, it provides enhanced visibility during low-light winter adventures.

  1. Unbuckle the side-release buckles on the fleece vest.
  2. Slip the vest collar over your dog's head and position it comfortably around the neck.
  3. Bring the belly panel under the chest and secure the side buckles.
  4. Adjust straps for a snug yet comfortable fit.
  5. Thread your leash through the back portal if using a harness underneath, and secure optional leg loops around back legs for windy days.

100% Recycled Polyester Fleece (260 g), Polyester Tricot Collar Lining, Webbing Straps, Side-Release Buckles, Reflective Trim, Elastic Stretch Leg Loops.

    Warm, well made coat

I got this coat for my 2 year old Great Dane. We have been having such cold weather lately that I wanted to get her another layer to wear under her winter coats. I am always afraid to purchase coats for her because the size charts are usually off, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I ordered her the x-large size which said it went up to a 42" chest and hers is about 40". I was expecting a tight squeeze but it fits her great. I put it on her under her hurtta coat and she stays nice and warm in this terrible cold weather we have been having. For reference my girl is 145 pounds with a 40" chest I purchased her the x-large size and it fits her great!! I can not attest to the durability yet, but it seems well made. I feel like it is a decent value for the money and she will get many years of wear out of it. Overall, we recommend it!

    Great Dog Vest

Awesome fleece vest. The fit is spot on. It's very easy to put on and take off of our Boxer. We have been purchasing from Ruffwear for years and have multiple items. All have stood the test of time.

    Perfect for hounds!

Fits our Bailey's hound shape perfectly, unlike other coats we've tried. Fairly easy to put on, and Bailey wears it comfortably. We're pleased!

FAQs

How do I choose the correct size for my dog in the Ruffwear Climate Changer Vest?

Measure around the widest part of your dog's ribcage to determine the correct size. The X-Large size is designed for larger dog breeds needing extra coverage. If your dog falls between sizes, select the larger size for a roomier fit or the smaller size for an active fit.

Can this fleece vest be worn underneath a waterproof dog rain jacket?

Yes, the low-profile, streamlined silhouette of the Climate Changer Vest makes it an ideal layering piece. It can easily be worn alone on cool, dry days or under a shell jacket during wet winter weather.

How should I clean and care for this dog fleece vest?

Machine wash the vest in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Secure all buckles before washing to prevent snagging. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat to maintain the anti-pilling fleece texture.
