Product details

The Ruffwear Chain Reaction Dog Collar in Basalt Gray is an advanced limited-cinch martingale collar designed specifically for dogs who tend to back out or slip out of standard flat collars. Combining high-tenacity reflective Tubelok webbing with a short section of durable stainless steel chain, this escape-proof collar provides gentle, audible feedback to help reinforce leash manners during everyday walks and professional obedience training.

Crafted for maximum versatility and safety, the Chain Reaction features dual leash attachment points: a heavy-duty stainless steel O-ring for engaging the martingale control function and an anodized aluminum V-ring for standard everyday walking. An integrated separate ID tag attachment point with a silicone tag silencer prevents metal clanking sounds, keeping daily strolls peaceful. The reflective threads woven into the colorfast polyester strap enhance visibility during early morning or late-night walks, making it an essential pet gear choice for active dogs and cautious owners alike.

  1. Adjust the collar to fit comfortably around your dog's neck, ensuring you can slip two fingers between the neck and collar.
  2. Attach your leash to the stainless steel O-ring on the chain section for limited-cinch martingale control during training, or attach to the aluminum V-ring for regular daily walking.
  3. Hand wash using mild detergent and air dry as needed.

FAQs

How do I choose the correct size for the Ruffwear Chain Reaction Collar?

Measure around your dog's neck where the collar would comfortably rest using a soft measuring tape. The Medium size fits neck circumferences from 14 to 20 inches. If your dog falls between sizes, select the larger size for optimal comfort and adjustability.

Can this collar be used as a regular everyday collar?

Yes, the collar includes two leash attachment points. Clip your leash to the anodized aluminum V-ring to use it as a standard non-cinching collar, or use the stainless steel O-ring on the chain for limited-cinch martingale functionality.

Is the stainless steel chain safe for short-haired or sensitive dogs?

The chain section is short and smooth, designed to provide a gentle, audible cue without catching or pinching. However, always ensure proper sizing and never leave a martingale collar on an unattended dog.

Are Ruffwear products sold on Dropy authentic imports?
