FAQs

Is Ruffwear crash tested?

Yes, the Ruffwear Load Up Dog Car Harness is designed and tested to withstand the forces of a vehicle crash test, utilizing strength-rated metal hardware and components to help keep your dog safe during sudden stops or impacts.

What is the safest dog restraint for a car?

A strength-rated, crash-tested harness like the Ruffwear Load Up is widely considered one of the safest travel restraints. It distributes impact forces across the chest rather than the neck and keeps the dog securely anchored to the car's seat belt system.

How do I choose the correct size for the X-Small harness?

Measure around the widest part of your dog's rib cage. The X-Small size is designed to fit dogs with a chest girth between 17 and 22 inches (43 to 56 cm). If your dog falls between sizes, refer to the girth measurement for the best fit.
