    Well crafted and highly durable leashe

    This is a great leash and is both highly versatile and extremely durable. I've been using it now for about one month and have had no problem with it. The one minor critisism I on the auto-locking talon clip. This clip is really well designed but is heavy, and when connected to a collar, especially the ridgeline collar, it drags the collar down to the bottom of the dogs neck. Which can result in the dog tripping or stepping over the collar requiring me to readjust. This is a minor issue but I still give 5 stars as I rarely connect this leash directly to the collar, it is connected to the harness 95% of the time.

    The leash that makes other dogs jealous

    Overall a fantastic leash. It's extremely lightweight, featuring the Talon clip with a 360-degree swivel and the excellent Fidlock buckle (which add to the cost premium versus other leashes).My primary reason for purchasing items from this Ridgeline collection are the Fidlock buckles. I'm tired of pinching my fingers with standard plastic buckles while working around thick fur. This leash keeps things consistent with the harness and collar and adds a Fidlock buckle for easy on/off when using hands-free.I've seen some confusion in other reviews regarding the slack. This isn't designed to be a 15-foot roaming lead; it's meant to keep your dog at a controlled, reasonable distance while you are hands free on a sidewalk, narrow trail or just want them nearby. Your waist size will affect the lead length, a smaller waist gives your dog a bit more room to explore. If you want 12+ feet of range hands free, the Ruffwear Hitch Hiker is likely a better fit for your needs.Room for Improvement: One suggestion for the next iteration is to add a traffic handle about a foot or two up from the clip. While most harnesses have handles, having one on the leash itself allows for quicker control in tight spaces without having to reach all the way down to the dog's back.It is expensive compared to other options (and maybe there is some room to work on price), but the quality is there. Ruffwear should consider offering a bundle discount if you buy all the items in the collection.Verdict: 5 Stars (or 4 Paws Up from my 55lb Aussie).
