Product details

Beat the summer heat and keep your canine companion comfortable during outdoor adventures with the Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Dog Vest in Biolumin Blue. Designed specifically for high-temperature hiking, walking, and camping, this advanced cooling jacket utilizes innovative three-layer Swamp Cooler technology to protect your pet from dangerous overheating.

The light-colored outer layer actively reflects direct solar radiation while providing UPF 50+ sun defense. Meanwhile, the specialized middle layer absorbs and retains water to deliver continuous core cooling through natural evaporation as your dog moves.

Finished with a breathable dry-weave inner mesh lining, the vest ensures your pup stays dry and relaxed without trapping heat. Practical features include side-release buckles for effortless on and off, a convenient integrated leash portal that accommodates most standard harnesses, and a reflective trim with a safety light loop for enhanced visibility during low-light outings.

Whether navigating warm afternoon trails or spending long days outdoors, this authentic USA-imported cooling vest helps maintain your dog's endurance, safety, and happiness.

  1. Fully submerge the Swamp Cooler Vest in water, wring it out gently to remove excess drips, and fasten it securely onto your dog using the side-release buckles.
  2. When the vest dries out during outdoor use, simply re-soak it with water to instantly recharge its cooling properties.

Outer layer: Wicking polyester mesh reflecting solar heat; Middle layer: Absorbent non-woven polyester felt for water storage; Inner layer: Dry-weave monofilament mesh for breathability.

    Perfect size for English lab

I have a 72-pound English lab with a thick neck and a barrel chest. She doesn't have a long body but is quite compact and size Large fits her perfectly. I was concerned that her neck would be too thick for the opening since it's often the case but this cooling coat fits just right.

    Superb quality & efficiency

This is an excellent cooling vest & much better quality than other makes, but unfortunately it didn't fit my dog properly & was too big with the chest belly strap far too long, which sagged even when fully tightened. My Border Collie has a neck size of size Medium but her chest is just into size Large. I did find the Ruffwear Swamp zip cooling vest fitted her much better. This however, is a very nice, superb quality cooling vest. I have the swamp neck gaiter too which is brilliant & wouldn't be without. The swamp range really does hold the moisture superbly & are very lightweight. They are expensive, but worth every penny. My advice is buy the Swamp range products rather than any others. Invest wisely for your fur baby & buy the best.

Keeps your dog cool and healthy

This is the second year of using the cooling vest. Works great. Pretty durable too. 110 lb rotty in 85 degree weather loves it. Takes about 45 to dry out. I carry a water bottle to spray on after that.

FAQs

Do Ruffwear cooling vests work?

Yes, Ruffwear cooling vests use proven evaporative cooling technology. By soaking the vest in water, the middle layer absorbs moisture and slowly releases it through evaporation, which effectively helps regulate your dog's core body temperature during hot weather.

How to use ruffwear swamp cooler?

To activate the vest, submerge it completely in clean water, wring out any excess water so it is damp rather than dripping, and secure it onto your dog. Whenever the fabric dries out during your walk or hike, simply pour more water over it to recharge the cooling effect.

Are swamp coolers good for dogs?

Evaporative cooling vests are highly beneficial for dogs prone to overheating during summer months. They provide vital shade, block harmful UV rays, and lower core temperatures, making warm-weather exercise much safer and more comfortable.
