Product details

The Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Zip Dog Vest delivers effective evaporative cooling and core shading for dogs participating in high-intensity warm-weather activities. Engineered with a formfitting zippered closure, this vest keeps the refreshing cooling action close to your dog's core while oversized armholes ensure complete freedom of movement during outdoor adventures.

Featuring an innovative three-layer construction, the vest utilizes Swamp Cooler technology to manage heat. The wicking outer air-mesh layer reflects solar heat and aids evaporation, the absorbent middle felt layer holds water for continuous cooling, and the dry-weave polyester mesh lining ensures your pet stays dry and comfortable against their skin. The back panel includes spandex rated at UPF 50+ to block harmful ultraviolet rays.

Ideal for active, small-breed dogs with chest girths between 13 and 17 inches, this vest simplifies summer thermal management. Simply soak the vest in cold water, wring out excess moisture, zip it onto your dog, and re-wet as needed during extended outings. The updated polyester stretch fabric offers enhanced durability, a secure fit, and superior color retention.

  1. Soak the vest thoroughly in cold water.
  2. Wring out the excess water gently.
  3. Zip the vest onto your dog, adjusting for a secure and comfortable fit.
  4. Re-wet the vest with fresh water as it dries out during long outdoor adventures to reactivate the cooling effect.
  5. Machine wash on a gentle cold cycle with mild detergent and air dry.

3-Layer Swamp Cooler Construction (Outer Wicking Air-Mesh, Middle Absorbent Felt, Inner Polyester Mesh), UPF 50+ Spandex Back Panel, Zippered Closure.

FAQs

How does the Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Zip Vest work?

The vest uses evaporative cooling through a 3-layer system. The outer layer reflects heat and promotes evaporation, the absorbent middle layer stores water, and the dry mesh lining keeps your dog dry while transferring cooling to their core.

How do I choose the correct size for my dog?

Measure your dog's chest girth around the widest part of their ribcage. Size XX-Small is designed specifically for dogs with a chest girth measuring between 13 and 17 inches (33 to 43 centimeters).

Is the cooling vest safe for my dog's fur and skin?

Yes, the vest features a specialized inner mesh lining that wicks moisture away, ensuring your dog stays dry, comfortable, and protected from chafing while wearing it.
