Product details

Keep your dog comfortable during warm outdoors adventures with the Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Zip Dog Vest. Specially designed for active pets exploring in hot weather, this form-fitting cooling jacket provides essential sun protection and temperature regulation. The top back panel utilizes lightweight UPF 50+ spandex fabric to shade your pet and reflect solar radiation, while the integrated three-layer chest and belly panel provides effective evaporative cooling.

To activate the cooling system, simply soak the vest in cold water, wring out any excess moisture, and zip it onto your dog. As the water slowly evaporates, the wicking outer layer and absorbent middle layer pull surface heat away from your pet's core, while the dry-weave mesh lining keeps them dry underneath. Ideal for trail hikes, beach days, and summer walks, the vest features oversized armholes for complete freedom of motion and a durable zipper closure for easy on and off. When the fabric dries out on longer excursions, simply re-wet the vest to recharge its cooling effect.

  1. Soak the vest thoroughly in cold water.
  2. Wring out excess water so the fabric remains damp.
  3. Zip the vest snugly onto your dog using the oversized armholes for alignment.
  4. Re-wet or spray the vest with water whenever it dries out during hot walks to recharge the evaporative cooling effect.
  5. Fasten the zipper and machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, then air dry.
